The Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT) is a national, member-driven organization dedicated to promoting the highest standards of professional practice in play therapy. We support a growing community of mental health professionals committed to child and youth wellness through therapeutic play.
We’re looking for passionate, collaborative leaders who are excited to shape the future of play therapy in Canada.

Below are brief descriptions of each committee:
Approved Provider Committee
Support the growth and integrity of play therapy education by reviewing and evaluating training providers. This committee assesses applications to determine alignment with CAPT standards and eligibility to offer certification-eligible training.
Certification Committee
Join us in maintaining the highest standards for play therapy certification. This committee reviews applications and supports professionals on their journey to becoming certified play therapists.
Conference Committee
Be part of organizing our annual conference, a key event for professional development and networking. Help plan sessions, coordinate speakers, and create an unforgettable experience for attendees.
Diversity & Equity Committee
Champion inclusivity and equity within the field of play therapy. This committee works to promote diverse perspectives, ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities, and create a welcoming environment for all members of our community. Your participation can help foster a more inclusive and just profession.
Education Committee
Contribute to the development of educational resources and training programs. This committee focuses on providing high-quality learning opportunities for play therapy practitioners.
Ethics Committee
Ensure ethical practice within the field of play therapy. This committee addresses ethical concerns, provides guidance, and upholds the integrity of our profession.
Fundraising Committee
Assist in securing financial support for our programs and initiatives. This committee focuses on fundraising strategies, donor relations, and organizing fundraising events.
International Play Therapy Week (IPTW) Committee
Help us celebrate and promote the power of play therapy! This committee plans engaging activities, resources, and outreach for a week-long celebration that raises awareness and builds community.
Marketing Committee
Drive our outreach efforts by developing and implementing effective marketing strategies. This committee focuses on enhancing our brand presence, increasing engagement across various platforms, and promoting the benefits of play therapy to a wider audience.
Membership Committee
Help us grow and engage our community by assisting with member recruitment, retention, and benefits. Your involvement will ensure our members feel valued and connected.
Publications Committee
Oversee the creation and distribution of our official publications, including newsletters, journals, and other informative materials. This committee ensures that our content is relevant, insightful, and valuable to both our members and the broader play therapy community.
Research Committee
Support the advancement of play therapy through research. Assist with the promotion and dissemination of research findings, and contribute to the evidence base of our field.
Executive Director
Location: Remote (with minimal travel required)
Term: 1-year contract (with intention to renew)
Salary: $120,000 per year

The Executive Director will provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership to CAPT—working closely with the Board of Directors, members, committees, and contractors.
