Scope of Practice:
Nicole Perryman is a play therapist who works alongside children and youth facing difficult experiences, including trauma, grief and loss, and the ongoing effects of racial and systemic harm. Through play and expressive arts, Nicole supports children and youth in addressing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and family transitions, while also creating culturally affirming spaces that honour identity, resilience, and lived experience—particularly for Black and racialized young people and their families. Her practice is deeply informed by trauma-responsive and Africentric approaches that honour the lived realities of Black and racialized children and their families.
Nicole’s specific modalities include play and sand tray therapy, EMDR, trauma-informed intervention, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion-focused and Internal Family Systems, and more.
In addition to direct practice, Nicole is an equity- and trauma-informed conference presenter, facilitator, and storyteller, with over 10 years of experience hosting events, delivering keynote presentations, and facilitating workplace learning. Nicole also provides clinical supervision and hosts bi-weekly consultation groups for professionals.
