Scope of Practice:
Wanda’s focus areas are as diverse as the unique clients she supports. She especially enjoys working with children ages 4–12 and youth ages 13-18, including those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, shame, separation anxiety, loss, attachment challenges, autism spectrum disorder, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, ADHD, selective mutism, anger, or other behavioural or relationship difficulties. Her work fosters each child’s or youth’s connection to their sense of self and the world around them.
In her counselling with children, youth, parents, adults, and couples, Wanda’s approach is optimism-based, strength-based, attachment-based, and informed by resilience and trauma research. Her work is grounded in acceptance, empathy, cultural humility, and creating a safe space for individuals to explore who they are and who they aspire to become.
In her work with couples, Wanda supports the building of strong, healthy relationships by fostering mutual fondness and admiration, constructive conflict management, and the creation of shared meaning together.
