Lori Wareham-Mulrooney

School age (e.g. age 5-12), Adolescents/Youth (e.g. age 12+)

Lori has worked as a social worker in Newfoundland & Labrador for 24 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, a Bachelor of Social Work, and a Master of Social Work. Lori is a Registered Social Worker with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers, and a Certified Play Therapy Supervisor through the Canadian Association for Play Therapy.

Lori is an EMDR trained therapist with a specialization in parent-child attachment and the integration of EMDR and Play Therapy with children and Adolescents. Lori has obtained additional specialization in the areas of TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention®) through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, certification as an AutPlay Therapy ® provider, is a Self-Reg® champion through the MEHRIT Centre, and is a trained provider of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T).

Lori has dedicated her career to working with children, adolescents & families who have experienced adversity. In 2022, after 20 years working with the Regional Health Authority, Lori transitioned into the non-profit world as a Therapist under the Wellness Division of Amal Youth & Family Centre Inc. This has allowed Lori to return to her roots in community work within an organization that is responsive and creative to the needs of individuals, families, and our community.
